we made it to california!

So, we finally made it to Anaheim! It was a long, long day for the kids (and us adults too!). For those who don't know, Dean, Amelia and I are on a short vacation with my brother, Brent, and his 2 kids, Mickinley and Brodie. Amelia is so thrilled to have Mickinley and Brodie with us!! Although we 'gave' her the Disneyland trip to her for Christmas (meaning that she has know for the past month that we are going to Disneyland and has been very excited about it all), she didn't know that Mickinley and Brodie were coming until the day before we left! Actually, Mickinley and Brodie didn't even know. We were waiting, and desparately hoping, that Mickinley and Brodie's passports would come in. And they did, 2 days before we were to leave!


Here is Amelia, about 3 seconds after she woke up. She generally is a bit of a crabby bear for the first 10 minutes or so of the day, but not this day. Not when she realized we were heading to Disneyland!!

Below are some shots from the airplane. The kids were great on the airplane. Captain Greg let the kids come up and check out the cockpit and showed them a few things. Amelia was talking to him non-stop. Then he announced over the intercom that it was Amelia's birthday in a few days. I think that freaked her out a bit.

So, by the time we had finally got to our hotel, the kids were beat. We grabbed some pizza, watched the Disneyland fireworks from our hotel balcony and hit the sack. Tomorrow we go to Disneyland!! I think I am just as excited as the kids. I've been awake since 5:30am so thought I would just get out of bed and get this blog started. Hopefully I'll have the energy to do this every evening so that you can see what each day brings us!

By the way, this is my first time posting to a blog. The formatting sucks, I know, but I've been working on it for 2 hours. Enough!! Hopefully the next post will be an improvement.
